actually, when i rode over a huge rock i didn't see, and ended
up in the drain with the bicycle on top of me, i didn't feel any
pain...
and didn't know i was bleeding everywhere until the provision shop
owner looked freaked out 
i bought the bread, went home and applied iodine on the
wound..
now, THAT hurt
